Acer palmatum 'Nigrum'

Middelgrote Japanse esdoor witte vruchtjes tegen rood blad. Nigrum is ondanks de vertouwd aanvoelende cultivarnaam een erg weinig voorkomende cultivar. Slechts in enkele verzamelingen is deze oude cultivar terug te vinden. Wordt soms verward met de veel algemener voorkomende Atropurpureum, maar lijkt daar nauwelijks op. De hoogte na 10 jaar is 200 cm. De bladkleur is wijnrood. Deze plant is zeer winterhard.
